Long-route buses have been operating since 4pm Saturday, after almost a three-day halt.

Transport owners and workers lifted the strike after a meeting with deputy inspector general of police and the deputy commissioner in Cox’s Bazar, said Mohammad Musa, president of Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation in Chittagong.

But the meeting failed to resolve the issue surrounding the punishment meted out to workers by the mobile court, he said.
