bdnews24.com's Kamal Hossain Talukder says Mir Qausem reached the ICT premises around 9:17 am.

Earlier at 9:11 am, a prison van carrying him left the Dhaka Central Jail, said Chawkbazaar Police Station OC Azizur Rahman.

The war crimes accused was brought to Dhaka from Gazipur's Kahsimpur Central Jail on Friday.

The ICT-2 led by Justice Obaidul Hassan is expected to deliver the verdict after 10:30 am.

The tribunal on Thursday fixed the date of the verdict on the Jamaat leader on Sunday.

Ali's verdict date was fixed barely a day after the head of Al-Badr and Jamaat chief Motiur Rahman Nizami was sentenced to death by ICT-1.

The party had called nationwide strikes for Thursday, Sunday and Monday in protest.

Meanwhile, law enforcers are on a strict vigil to thwart any kind of untoward incidents over the verdict.

Additional RAB and police personnel have been deployed in and around the tribunal, situated at the old High Court premises.

Everyone including journalists are having to go through a body search  before entering the tribunal.
