Alauddin Munshi, brother-in-law of Railways Minister Mazibul Hoque, has hinted that his younger sister Honufa Akter Rikta and her husband may go to Dubai or the Maldives for their honeymoon.

After the wedding on Friday afternoon, he told bdnews24.com, “I have a hotel and restaurant business in the Maldives. If the bridegroom so desires, he can go there for honeymoon.”

“Another brother Nasir Munshi stays in Dubai. So the minister can also go there if he wants,” he said.

Both the brothers are now in Bangladesh for their sister's wedding.

The bridegroom has, however, not yet revealed his honeymoon plans.

Rikta's nephew Shoaib Akhtar told bdnews24.com at the wedding venue that "the bride has not decided anything about the honeymoon”.

“Honeymoon can take place wherever the bridegroom decides.”

Putting an end to his prolonged bachelorship, 67-year old minister Hoque tied the knot with Rikta at the latter’s home at Mirakhala village in Comilla's Chandina earlier in the day.
The minister got acquainted with Rikta, who cleared SSC examinations in 2000, around three years back.
After the wedding, the minister went to his official residence at Ministers' Apartment building at Minto Road in Dhaka with his bride to begin their married life.
