Police have detained five suspected Islami Chhatra Shibir activists during a raid on three halls of Rajshahi University.

Police OC Alamgir Hossain said a search was carried out at Shaheed Shamsuzzoha, Ziaur Rahman and Habibur Rahman halls late Friday night.
Those detained were identified as Atiq Alam, student of Masters at chemistry department, Sultan Mahmud, student of second year at law department, Asadullah Al-Galib, student of fourth year at anthropology department, Shamim Hossain, student of third year at folklore department and Enamul Islam, student of second year at Islamic studies department.
OC Alamgir told bdnews24.com information regarding Chhatra Shibir activists planning sabotage in the campus called for the raid.
“The detained are in police custody and legal steps will be taken if the allegations are confirmed,” he added.
