Police arrested ten Islami Chhatra Shibir activists from Lohagarha and Satkaniya area early on Thursday.

Shibir is the student affiliate of Jamaat-e-Islami.

Meanwhile, another Shibir activist was detained in the morning at the city's Khulshi area when the party was trying to take out a procession.

Traffic was less than usual on Thursday with no long-haul buses operating from the city. Trains, however, plied on schedule.
Chittagong's Assistant Police Commissioner (Satkaniya Circle) AKM Emran Bhuiyan told bdnews24.com that heavy vehicles were not plying on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway, but plenty of small vehicles were on the road.
No incidents of violence were reported in the port city, said the police official.
