The deals were inked on Monday after a meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and UAE's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The two leaders were present during the signing ceremony.

The treaties on prisoner exchange and security collaboration were signed by State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and UAE's Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed.

According to Additional Home Secretary Kamal Uddin Ahmed the prisoner exchange treaty will facilitate one country to hand over convicted criminals to the other.

"The treaty is similar to what we have with other countries. It will protect interest of both countries," he said.

The agreement can be implemented in 30 days upon endorsement by the Cabinet, added Ahmed.

He said that the security collaboration deal would enhance cooperation in areas like countering terrorism and trafficking drugs, arms and human.

The deal for allotting land for the UAE embassy in Dhaka was signed by Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed.
Hasina went to Dubai from Abu Dhabi on Monday. She met Al Maktoum, also UAE's Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, at the Zabeel Palace.
