Crude bombs, 2kg of gunpowder seized in Rajshahi
Elite police unit RAB claims to have seized 57 improvised bombs and two kilogrammes of gunpowder from a place near the Rajshahi University (RU) ahead of the Islamist groups' general strike demanding Abdul Latif Siddique's arrest.

They were found abandoned on a street between RU and the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology on early Sunday.
But no one was immediately held over the seizure.
RAB-5 Assistant Director ASP Mirza Golam Sarowar said they raided the area on a tip-off that a huge quantity of explosives had been stored for causing trouble during Sunday's strike.
He said their bomb squad had neutralised the explosives.
