CMP Commissioner Abdul Jalil Mandal launched the campaign at the Jamiatul Falah National Mosque ground on Friday morning.

Over 500 police personnel took part in the operation that stretched from the mosque field to Wasa, Damparha, and the Kazir Deuri area on Friday.

During the drive, the commissioner interacted with people on various aspects of cleanliness.

Later, the police officer told reporters, “Our duty is to suppress crime and serve the people.”

He stressed ordinary people should consciously work to keep the city clean.

“If people are mindful of where they throw rubbish, the city will remain clean.”

He addressed all building owners to keep the front of their houses spotless.

He said police will speak to people of various classes, including politicians, at selected locations on holidays.

“If that doesn’t work, police will do the work themselves.”
