Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station SI Anwar Hossain was taken into custody on Wednesday and a case against him filed.

The station’s OC Abdul Momin was also withdrawn, Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Tejgaon zone Deputy Commissioner Biplab Kumar Sarkar told bdnews24.com.

After SI Hossain shot Shah Alam, a car driver, in both legs several days back, allegations surfaced that the police officer had done so intentionally and staged a false seizure of firearm from the latter in an act of cover-up.
