Her husband Giasuddin, 37, was declared dead when taken to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital at 12am Sunday, said Inspector Mozammel Haque of the police outpost there.
“He was bleeding heavily after being struck on the head with a sharp weapon.”
The victim’s wife, Lovely Akhter, was being questioned, Mirpur Police OC Salah Uddin Ahmed told bdnews24.com.
“We’ve learn that Giasuddin had a sharp altercation with his brothers over a land dispute three days ago.”
Police suspect a marital discord or the dispute with his brothers may have led to the murder.
