Enquiry opens into deadly Natore bus crash

The Natore district administration has launched an investigation into Monday’s accident in which two buses collided in Natore's Barhaigram to leave at least 29 dead.

A three-member committee has been formed and will be led by Additional District Magistrate Mohammad Ali.

The assistant superintendent of police (circle) and assistant manager of BRTA are the other two members.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges in a media statement said the committee to submit a report within three working days.

Bonparha highway police OC Fuad Hossain said a bus of Keya Paribahan collided with another oncoming bus in the Rejir Morh area around 3:30pm, leaving at least 20 others injured.

Meanwhile, the president and prime minister have expressed shock at the accident and ordered authorities to arrange treatment for those injured.
