They agitated in front of the university's TSC and later held a brief rally near the 'Oporajeyo Bangla' on Sunday.

Until now, candidates could appear for the entry test twice in a row but on Oct 15, the DU announced that admission seekers will get one chance from the 2015-16 session.

It said the measure was taken to curb malpractices in admission tests.

Shahbagh police on Sunday detained five demonstrators from the TSC apprehending they would create unrest on the campus.

OC Sirajul Islam identified three of them as 'Rasel', 'Jony', and 'Mamun'.

The protesters said they would submit a memorandum to the university's vice chancellor on Oct 21.

They have served an Oct 24 ultimatum on the university to accept their demand and threatened a mass gathering at the Shaheed Minar on Oct 25 otherwise.
