Truck accident kills teacher in Sitakundu
A college teacher has died in a truck accident in Chittagong’s Sitakundu Upazila.

The victim has been identified as Professor Jainul Abedin, 60, of Sitakundu Bijoy Sarani Degree College.
The truck, loaded with stones, ran over him while he was standing beside the road around 10pm on Saturday.
Sitakundu Police Station SI Kamal Uddin said the professor died on spot.
He was waiting for his transport to the college when the Chittagong-bound truck ran him over, said SI Kamal.
Although the truck has been detained, its driver fled.
Police handed the body over to the family without performing autopsy on their request, said the SI.
“Locals have informed us that Professor Jainul Abedin was a freedom Fighter. After retiring from a college in Rangunia he joined the Bijoy Sarani College last year,” he said.
