Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali made the suggestion on Tuesday when the outgoing French ambassador in Dhaka, Michel Trinquier, called on him at his office.

The foreign ministry said Trinquier appreciated the proposal and said the process could begin with Director General level talks between the foreign offices.

The ambassador stressed the strengthening of bilateral ties in all spheres, particularly in matters of climate change and economic co-operation.

He also mentioned the French government’s plan to set up a Mime Academy in Dhaka as part of cultural exchange between countries.
