The Election Commission (EC) has announced the way to get their names enrolled in the voter roll.
EC Public Relations Director SM Asaduzzaman said on Sunday they can go to the registration centres in their respective areas with necessary documents and filling up the Form-2.
Information was collected from Sept 1 to 10 in Dhaka City for updating voter roll.
The three-phase voter list updating began on May 15. The voter lists of city areas will be updated until Nov 15.
Asaduzzaman said those who already filled up forms in Dhaka City areas needed to go to registration centres on particular days so that the centres could take their photos and register them as voters.
He said one wishing to be voter had to provide SSC certificate, birth registration certificate or nationality certificate, parents’ national ID cards or card numbers and copies of utility bills.
Special form for shifting to ‘special areas’
The EC has said those wishing to shift as voters to ‘Rohingya-dominated special areas’ from any other areas of the country have to fill up a special form.
The commission has already issued necessary instructions to 14 Upazila election officers in Bandarban, Cox’s Bazar and Rangamati to this end.
The EC also asked the officers to verify the information given on the special form.
