Hasina, Khaleda exchange Eid greetings
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia have greeted each other ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha.

Although the ‘Battling Begums’ -- as they are referred to by foreign journalists -- rarely meet and talk, they have been greeting each other on Pahela Baishakh and Eids.
Hasina’s Protocol Officer SM Khurshid-ul-Alam passed on the greeting card to Khaleda’s special aide Shimul Biswas on Wednesday afternoon.
The prime minister is expected to return home from London on Thursday.
Earlier in the evening, BNP’s Deputy Office Secretary Abdul Latif Jony and Asadul Karim Shahin conveyed the party chief’s greetings to Awami League President Hasina’s Dhanmondi political office.
Hasina also greeted Opposition Leader Raushon Ershad and her special envoy Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad.
Bangladesh will celebrate Eid on Oct 6.
