3 more arrested over Keraniganj murders

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested three, including a woman suspected to be involved in the murders of four of a family in Dhaka.

Those arrested are Dakaat Suman, his wife 'Afsana' and accomplice Chan Mia.

"Suman and his wife were detained from Mymensingh on Tuesday night and Chan Mia was arrested from Dhaka's Demra area," RAB-1- Operations Officer Kausar Hossain told bdnews24.com.

He claimed that the three have admitted to be involved in the killings.

On Sept 24, Saju Ahmed, 35, his wife Rajia Begum, 26 ,their five-year old son Imran and three-year old daughter Sanjida were found dead at their home in south Keraniganj.

Blindfolded bodies of the four, hands and legs tied, were found in a first-floor apartment of a six-storey building at Kadampur in South Keraniganj.
Questioning of the house caretaker, 'Sohel', and one 'Akkas', who helped Ahmed rent the apartment, exposed those involved with the murders.
The latest arrests take the number of those nabbed for the multiple murders to eleven.
On Sept 26, police detained seven, including three women, over the killings after raids at Gazipur, Munshiganj and Keraniganj.
They are Rani Begum, Mukta Begum, Shahida Begum, Abdul Majid, 'Rafik', 'Sumon' and 'Jony'.
One 'Nasir', 35, who was nabbed from Sirajganj's Ullaparha Upazila early morning Tuesday, was said to have been present at the spot during the killings, according to Keraniganj Police.
