Judge Md Shahed Nur Uddin of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 has started recording his deposition.

Earlier on the day, the defence cross examined Joj Mia's sister Khorsheda Khatun, said prosecution's lawyer Abu Abdullah Bhuiyan.

Former Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials Ruhul Amin and Abdur Rashid were the investigators of the case during the BNP-Jamaat government. The two are now accused in the case.

At least 24 people, including Awami League women front’s president Ivy Rahman, were killed and over a hundred, including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina (then leader of Opposition) were injured in the 2004 grenade attack in Dhaka.

Motijheel police filed the two cases -- one over the murders and the other for the use of explosives.

Police arrested Mia from Noakhali on June 9 that year over the incident and pressed charges in 2008.

Investigators later discovered Mia was framed in the case at the instruction of the BNP-led government.
