JCD general secretary remanded
A Dhaka court has given police three days to take Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) General Secretary Habibur Rashid Habib in their custody and question him in a case over violence.

The metropolitan magistrate on Sunday heard the police plea for a 10-day remand for the BNP student front leader, a day after his arrest at Shahjalal International Airport on his way to the US.
Shahbagh police claim Habib was involved with handmade bomb explosion from a JCD procession on Sept 22 and obstructing police during the 20-Party Alliance's general strike.
Defence counsel Sanaullah Mia rubbished the claims.
"He is not named in the chargesheet. Police sought remand of four persons with the name Habib," he said adding the case was 'politically motivated'.
