Fire Service Control Room in-charge Mohammad Ali said that fire broke out around 3am at the third floor of the nine-storey building of a dyeing factory, Mega Yung.
"Ten fire-fighting units from Savar, Kaliyakoir, Dhamrai, EPZ fire service and Mirpur headquarters rushed to spot. The flames were put off around 8am," he said.
Joydebpur Police Station's sub-inspector Md Jakir Hossain said it's yet to be known whether there was anyone in the factory during the fire.
The extent of damage and the cause of the fire is yet to be known.
