After Daily Jugantor ran the report on Sunday, the ICT's prosecution team at a press briefing alleged that it was an attempt to discredit the prosecutors.
The prosecutors whose comments are in that report were also present at the briefing.
The trial in that case has ended and the verdict is expected any day.
The prosecutors claimed they were misquoted in the Jugantor report.
Chief Prosecutor Ghulam Arieff Tipoo said the report was 'completely false and baseless'.

The reporter wanted to create mistrust about the prosecutors, he said.

Prosecutor Rana Dasgupta sought to assure that no file went missing from the tribunal. "This report was false, motivated and aimed to create confusion."

He claimed not a single file was deleted and that all the files on all accused, both charged and convicted, are stored on the prosecution team's computers.

The Jugantor report said the ICT did not take any step after the case file went 'missing'.

But Dasgupta said, "No such incident (file going missing) took place. So filing a GD (general diary) with police is out of question."

He added prosecutors Zead-Al-Malum, Rezia Sultana Chamon and Mohammad Ali denied making the remarks claimed in the report.

According to him, they checked the computers of all members of the prosecution team and no file was found missing.

He further said the team would discuss the matter and take legal measures.

"We have also sought protection from the government," the senior prosecutor said.
