BRTC, ICT Directorate and BCSIR get new chiefs

The government has appointed a new chief to three important agencies -- the BRTC, the ICT Directorate and the BCSIR.

Apart from them, 10 additional secretaries have also been transferred to different positions.
The public administration ministry made the changes in two separate orders on Monday.
The government's transport arm BRTC's Chairman Jasim Uddin will helm the Information and Communication Technology Directorate that provides support to the e-governance and e-service initiatives.
Executive member to Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) Mizanur Rahman has been made the new BRTC chairman.
He will be replaced by Shawkat Ali Warsi, an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) attached to the commerce ministry.
Science and technology division's Additional Secretary AKM Asaduzzaman will head the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) that spearheads scientific and industrial innovations in Bangladesh.
In a separate order, education ministry's Additional Secretary Kazi Salahuddin Akbar has been transferred to the Ministry of Science and Information Technology.
Helal Uddin, an OSD attached to the public administration ministry, has been shifted to the education ministry.
Apart from them, NTRCA member Rafiqul Islam has been moved to the shipping ministry and home ministry's Additional Secretary Shafiqul Islam has been transferred to the Statistics and Informatics Division.
The public administration ministry's Additional Secretary Naznin Begum has been assigned to the commerce ministry while ICT Directorate's Director General Mostofa Kamal has been sent to Home.
