Customs seizes 7 kg gold from passenger at Chittagong airport

Officials at the international airport in Chittagong have seized gold bars weighing 7 kgs from a passenger on Sunday.

Customs Assistant Commissioner Tapan Chakrabarty said that the gold was found on one Al Amin, 22, who landed at Chittagong around 10.30am by Biman Bangladesh flight from Dubai.
"58 gold bars were found strapped around his waist," Chakrabarty told bdnews24.com.
The estimated market value of the confiscated gold is around Tk 29 million, added the customs official.
