7 injured in Pabna Edward College students' clash

A clash between two groups of students at a dormitory of Pabna's Edward College on Saturday has left seven injured.

Pabna Sadar Police Station OC Kazi Haniful Islam said that the turf war at the college's SM Students' Dormitory erupted around 11 pm, when at least five rooms of the hostel were vandalised.

The injured have been taken to Pabna Sadar Hospital.

Quoting students, the police official told bdnews24.com that tension has been rising between the students of the ground floor and first floor over the last two days.

Hostel Superintendent Abdul Awal and Assistant Superintendent Rafiqul sat with students to mediate the matter on Saturday.

The clash broke out when a student, Rezaul was beaten by his opponents at the dormitory's dinning hall. Five rooms of the ground floor were then vandalised by the students.

Police took the situation under control soon after

"We were holding a meeting to solve the problem. Police was informed when the clash broke put," the dormitory's Assistant Superintendent told bdnews24.com.
