4 die as in truck-van collision in Tangail

Four people were killed and four others were injured on Sunday when a covered van and a pick-up truck collided with each other at Tangail's Mirzapur Upazila.

Gorai Highway Police Station OC Zubaidul Alam said that the accident happened at the Upazila's Jamurki area around 6.30 am on Sunday.

"After the collision, the Dhaka-bound covered van lost control and rammed into a shop beside the road. One Lebu Mia, 42, who was sleeping there, was killed on the spot," he said.

Seven others injured were rushed to the Tangail Medical College, where three died later.

Those who died at the hospital are Abdur Rashid, 40, Ismail Hossain, 35 and Sohel Hossain, 30.
