Jatrabarhi Police Station OC Obori Shankar Kar said that they were arrested on Saturday after a woman died at the Al-Madina Hospital at the capital's Dayaganj area.

Tahmina Akter, 20, was admitted at the hospital on Thursday night with labour pain. She gave birth to a girl child on Friday by a caesarean section but died past midnight.

Relatives said that the surgery was done by one Dr Asma Jasmine, who left 15 minutes after the operation on Friday morning.
"We found her writhing in pain in the afternoon. The hospital authorities were asked to respond. They called Asma Jasmine over phone, but she was then at Savar attending a wedding ceremony," Md Khokan, a relative of Akter's husband Ismail Hossain told bdnews24.com.
"Dr Jasmine came at the clinic around Friday midnight. By then Tahmina's (Akter) body became lifeless. The doctor then asked us to shift her to a clinic at Lalmatiya. On the way, we took her to the emergency room of the Islamia Hospital at Kakrail, where the doctors declared her dead," said Khokan.
He blamed the doctor and the hospital's negligence for Akter's death.
OC Kar said that they have arrested 'Liton' and 'Ripon' of Al-Madina Hospital after receiving complaints from the victim's family.
The body was sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College's morgue for autopsy, said the police officer.
