Firefox phone users can use the free app – available in the Firefox Marketplace – to read bdnews24.com’s English and Bengali editions.

Ehsan Aleem Avee, a member of the team of developers who are bringing this app to life, says, “Just like our apps for Android and iOS, the app for Firefox OS, too, will soon reach our subscribers. We want to stay with readers in all platforms.”

He hopes that the complete app, containing the additional features that the apps on other platforms already have, can be launched soon.

bdnews24.com’s Head of Sales and Marketing Tanim Ahmed says readers' habits are changing fast and as technology evolves so must news outlets keep up to reach out.

“The new bdnews24 app for firefox is just one such instance. This is only one more initiative to serve the readers better,” he said.

“We only mean to keep up with the pace of technology-changing patterns of the reader base.”

bdnews24.com’s newest Android and iPhone apps (beta launch) have been available in the Google Play Store and Apple Store for some time now.

The first Firefox OS phone in Bangladesh was launched recently by Symphony, in collaboration with Mozilla and Grameenphone. The budget phone will be available in markets from Sept 28.
