His mother and sister have also been brought as they will testify at the court of Dhaka's first Speedy Trial Tribunal judge Md Shahed Noor.

Prosecutor Abu Abdullah Bhuiyan said that, on Sept 8, the court heard Mia' mother Jobeda Khatun's statements and, on Monday, his sister 'Khorsheda' will testify before the court.

He said that there were thin possibilities of holding Joj Mia's deposition on Monday.

At least 24 people, including Awami League women front’s president Ivy Rahman, were killed and over a hundred, including incumbent Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, then the leader of the opposition, were injured in the 2004 attack.

Motijheel police filed the two cases -- one over the murders and the other for the use of explosives.

Police arrested Mia from Noakhali on June 9 that year and pressed charges in 2008.

Investigators later discovered Mia was framed in the case at the instruction of the BNP-led government.
