People in 20 districts in Bangladesh have been affected by the seasonal flood. No statistics regarding the damage is available yet.
But floodwaters inundated 170,000 hectares of farmland in the country over the last two months.
The minister on Sunday alleged that local MPs were not available even during the government's relief programme at flood affected areas.
"The MPs and DCs did not provide any information about how much flood relief are required in their respective areas. But the MPs only demand more rice whenever I meet them."
Maya said the government has 300,000 metric tonnes of foodgrains stock at present.
