A coach of Inter-city express train 'Jamuna' went off the tracks at a level-crossing near the Mymensingh Railway Junction.

Railway Police OC Abdus Sattar said the coach derailed around 6.15 am while it was passing a level-crossing at the town's CK Ghosh Road near the rail station.

According to Sattar, the derailment broke several slippers on the tracks.

No one was injured, because the train was running slow as it neared the Mymensingh railway station, he added.

Several Dhaka-bound trains from the northern region have been stranded at different stations due to the derailment.

A rescue train has reached the spot and started to remove the derailed coach, said OC Sattar.
