Firearm found on dead body

Police have recovered a man's body with a loaded revolver on it from Savar's Ashulia on Thursday.

The body of the man, estimated to be 35-year old, was found in a lake, police said.

Ashulia Police Station's sub-inspector Ruhul Amin told bdnews24.com that locals spotted the body and informed police. It was sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.

According to the police officer, a loaded revolver and a mobile phone were found after searching the body. The gun was loaded with three rounds of ammunition.

He said the body had no injury marks. The man was suspected to have died at least three to four days ago.

Earlier, on Wednesday, another body was recovered from a lake at Ashulia, which also had a loaded revolver on it.

Dhaka district's Assistant Superintendent of Police Sheikh Russell, who visited the spot, told bdnews24.com: "Those whose bodies have been found with firearms are criminals.
 

"But it is not clear how the bodies came to be there or who had killed. Only an investigation will reveal that."
