Police say one of the deceased could be a victim of the Pinak-6 launch disaster.

Police recovered the bodies of a male and a female after locals at Madhyachar of Nilkomol Union saw them floating on the river, said Haimchar Police OC Md Moniruzzaman.

The female was approximately 22 to 25-year old, he said. The man is between 25 to 30 years of age.
“The man’s body is decomposed and could be a few days old. The woman whose body we found might have been in the launch that sank in Munshiganj yesterday (Monday),” said OC Moniruzzaman.
There were 350 people onboard when Pinak-6 drowned due to strong currents at Louhajang turning point. The authorities say 118 have been listed as missing.
Only two bodies had so far been found.
Chandpur Superintendant of Police Md Amir Zafar said police were trying to identify the two bodies.
“We’ve heard about the recovery of the bodies in Chandpur. But we are not sure if any launch-mishap victim is there,” Munshiganj Louhajang Assistant Commissioner Abul Kalam told bdnews24.com.
