1 dies in land dispute in Moulvibazar

One person has died in a family clash over a piece of land in Rajnagar Upazila in Moulvibazar

OC of Rajnagar Police Station Md Nazim Uddin told the clash erupted at the East Khash Mahal village in Uttarbhag union on Thursday night .

The man killed was identified as Siraj Mia,35, son of late Abdul Hashim.

Police have yet to identify 5 others injured in the clash.

OC Nazim told bdnews24.com that a dispute over landed property has split the six sons of Fazar Ali Mia, a resident of East Khash Mahal village, into two groups.

" These two groups were engaged in acrimonious arguments that boiled over into a clash which left Siraj seriously injured. When he was taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital the doctor on duty declared him dead."

The OC also said the dead body had been sent to hospital morgue for autopsy and preparations were on to file a case.
