Bus crash kills 4 in Sylhet

Four people have died after their bus fell into a ditch in Sylhet’s Surma, on the second day of Eid.

The Noor Ananda Paribahan bus was headed for Sunamganj’s Diraiye when it spun off the road at Atirbari on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway on Wednesday.

Seven year-old Anamika Chakraborty, her grandmother Pratibha Chakraborty, 55, Somuj Miah, 60 and Abdul Mukit, 55 died on spot.
“The bus tumbled down into a ditch after the driver lost its control. About 20 people are injured,” said Surma Police OC Md Morsalin.
The dead bodies have been pulled out and taken to South Surma Police Station.
Eighteen people have so far died in road accidents at Noakhali, Narayanganj, Faridpur and Bhola on Eid day.
