Titas Well No. 21 shut, gas flow falls

Gas supply to the national grid has fallen following a production halt at Well No. 21 in Ghatura, Brahmanbaria.

Titas Gasfields DGM Uttam Sarker told bdnews24.com: "Since the beginning of gas extraction on Dec 26, 2013, water has been coming out with the extracted gas. Drilling flaws have forced the company to shut down the well."
The well supplied 15 million cubic feet of gas daily to the national grid, he said.
According to Petrobangla, daily gas extraction on Jul 22-23 was 2.33 billion cubic feet.
Russian gas giant Gazprom has been drilling at Well No. 3 from November 2013.
