Chittagong Industrial Police Inspector Arifur Rahman said, “A Korean RMG unit, New Era Fashion Limited, in sector 7 was vandalised around 10:30am on Tuesday."

He told bdnews24.com: “Workers became infuriated after the factory management announced to pay only half a month’s salary along with bonus, turning down workers’ demand for full salary and bonus."

Angry workers first demonstrated outside the factory and after a while vandalized several windows and doors and some furniture, he said.
EPZ Police Station OC Abul Mansur said the factory owners, BEPZA, police and workers later held a meeting where the management agreed to pay the next month's salary with bonus before Eid.
After the latest decision, the agitating workers calmed down around 12pm, the OC said.
