Two policemen were also wounded during the incident at Uttaran Residential Area at Kolatoli bypass.

Delwar Hossain Dilu, 32, reportedly the gang’s second-in-command, has been admitted to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital, said Sadar Police OC Mahfuzur Rahman.

He is an accused in multiple cases of murder, rape, robbery and hijacking, the OC said.

“Delwar Hossain Dilu was arrested during a raid at Rocky Bahini’s hideout at Pahartali at 10pm on Friday. Later police went to Uttaran Residential Area to recover arms based on information provided by Dilu.”

“When police reached there, miscreants fired at the law enforcers forcing the police team to retaliate. Dilu and two policemen were injured in the firing. A locally-made gun and two rounds of ammunition were later found at the site,” said OC Mahfuzur.

He said the injured policemen have been undergoing treatment at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
