Awami League’s student affiliate BCL district unit’s general secretary Anwar Hossain Bipul was framed as accused for the murder of a student of Jessore University of Science and Technology, Kotwali Police Station OC Sahidul Islam said.

Bipul was one of the 12 accused in the case filed by the victim’s family.

Local AL and BCL leaders surrounded the police station on Tuesday night and demanded withdrawal of the case.
They alleged that police were yet to identify the killers of fourth year environmental science student Naimul Islam Riyad, who was killed in a clash between factions of BCL of the university unit on Monday.
His uncle Rafiqul Islam filed the case on Tuesday making the university unit BCL president Subrata Biswas and general secretary Shamim Hasan the main accused.
The university authorities permanently expelled four students -- Subrata, Shamim, Tanvir and Azizul— over the murder.
