He was earlier let off in a vandalism case following a bail granted by the High Court.
According to prison authorities, the Jamaat leader was released around 10.30am from the Chittagong Central Jail after they received his bail documents .
He was arrested by the police in two cases filed at the Lohagarha police station from the jail gate.
Chittagong's Additional Superintendent of Police (South) Mostafizur Rahman said that the Jamaat leader is acussed of attacking a police camp and setting fire to a filling station in Lohagarha area.
Islam along with 20 others were arrested on May 12 from Metropolitan unit Jamaat office at the port city's Siraj Ud Dowla road.
