Authorities have asked male students to vacate dormitories by 9pm Monday and female students by 9am Tuesday.

JUST vice chancellor Abdus Sattar said they had decided to temporarily expel BCL president Subrata Biswas and general secretary Shamim Hasan following preliminary investigations.

A five-member probe body has been formed, he added.

Fourth year environment department student, Naimul Islam Riyad , 25, was stabbed to death on Monday in front of the JUST's main entrance, said Kotowali Police Station OC Shahidul Islam.

Jessore district unit BCL president Ariful Islam alleged that a group of students led by Biswas and Hassan attacked Riyad around 1.30 pm.

He was rushed to the Jessore Sadar Hospital with stab wounds but doctors pronounced him dead.

According to Riyad's classmates, he was killed in an internal feud over the formation of a new BCL committee at JUST.
