Joy to attend jute farmers' rally

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's son Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed has reached Rangpur where he is scheduled to attend several programmes, said a senior official in the PM office.

He will formally inaugurate nearly 3,000 new power connections in 50 villages beside Wi-Fi connections and computer labs in several schools in Rangpur’s Pirganj, said Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam Khokon.

Sajeeb Ahmed, better known as Joy, will also hold a rally with some jute farmers in Rangpur.

He is the prime minister's information technology affairs advisor.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury who is MP from Pirganj, Posts and Telecommunications Minister Abdul Latif Siddique, state minister for jute and textiles Mirza Azam, ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak, are among others accompanying him.

This is Joy's first progamme outside Dhaka after he returned home in June. He will start for Dhaka in the evening, Khokon said.
