'Mugger' killed in 'encounter'
A suspected mugger has been killed in an alleged gunbattle with police's Detective Branch (DB) in Dhaka.

The shootout took place at Khilgaon in Dhaka.
DB Deputy Commissioner Jahangir Hossain Matubbor said a team of detectives rushed to near the Khidmah Hospital after being tipped off a mugging incident.
Several motorcycle-borne snatchers opened fire on police when they arrived, he claimed.
"A man was injured when police fired back. Doctors at Dhaka Medical College Hospital declared him dead on arrival," Matubbor told bdnews24.com.
The deceased is yet to be identified.
Police claimed to have recovered a pistol and three rounds of ammunition from the spot.
"We have heard the deceased was known as 'Kangali Jahangir', a locally known mugger," the DB officer said.
