An Appellate Division bench of four, headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, granted a petition to take out the observations from the verdict on May 29 this year.

The three other judges of the bench were Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, Justice Hassan Foez Siddique, and Justice Mirza Hussain Haider.

In the verdict issued on May 4, 2014, the Supreme Court ordered immediate takeover of the film legend's ancestral house to turn it into a museum.

Pabna district administration in 1987 gave the house on an annual lease to the Imam Ghazali Trust.

Jamaat-e-Islami leader Maulana Abdus Subhan was president of the Trust and party’s Pabna unit legal affairs secretary Abid Hassan was secretary at the time.
