4 die from electrocution

Four people have died from electrocution in two separate incidents.

Three members of a family in Dinajpur’s Madhobpur died while they were trying to power up their shallow-pump engine around noon on Thursday.

‘Mosaddek’, one of the victims, was electrocuted while connecting an irrigation pump to a power line, said Dinajpur Kotwali Police OC Altaf Hossain.
His younger brother ‘Shubho’, cousin ‘Sadekul’ died while trying to save him, he added.
Mofizul Haque, 50, was admitted to the Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital with injuries.
Meanwhile, Dwin Mohammad, a 35-year-old rickshaw driver, died from electrocution in a garage at Chittagong’s Baklia.
Dwin was charging the battery that powers his rickshaw, said SI Panjak Barua of the police outpost at Chittagong Medical College and Hospital.
Doctors of the hospital pronounced him dead after he was rushed there in a critical state, said Barua.
