Industrial Police director Mustafizur Rahman told bdnews24.com that the incident took place at the Southern Design Limited on Wednesday morning.

The injured were taken to the Women and Children Health Care Centre.

They were let off after being given first aid. But administrative officer Md Shohag had to be admitted, as he had suffered a head injury.
Referring to the Police, Mustafizur told bdnews24.com, “Wednesday morning they came to learn that their co-worker Abbas Ali had died of a heart attack previous night. They sought leave from Shohag to go to Abbas’ house but he refused permission. This infuriated the workers who beat up Shohag. Tension between authorities and workers gradually escalated into a major clash.”
The situation calmed down after the workers left the factory around 9 am. Later, the authorities declared a day’s holiday.
