No lawyer appeared for Hossain during Monday’s hearing in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate and one of his accomplices 'Selim' to plead for their bail.

But a local lawyer, Tarak Das, represented Khan Suman, another of Hossain's aide.

Advocate Das claimed police destroyed all travel documents of his client.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Madhumita Roy has asked them to procure legal documents from Bangladesh and place them before it on July 21, when the trio will again be produced there.

Meanwhile, police tried to attach another case filed at Gaighata police station against them but the court refused to take it up on Monday.

It was not immediately known what the case was all about. Police were tight-lipped about it

West Bengal police had arrested Hossain along with two other accomplices last month from Baguiati in Kolkata.
