In its weather forecast Friday, it said the depression over east-central bay and adjoining area moved south-westwards before weakening into a well marked low.

Under its influence, deep convection is taking place over north bay, it said, adding that squally weather may affect north bay, adjoining coastal area and the maritime ports of Bangladesh.

Authorities have been advised to keep the local cautionary signal 3 hoisted at the maritime ports until further notice.

All fishing boats and trawlers over north bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and not to venture into the deep sea.
