US official on two-day visit
The US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs has arrived in Dhaka on a two-day visit.

Fatema Sumar will visit Bangladesh on May 6-7, the US embassy says in a media release.
In her capacity, she covers regional affairs.
The embassy said she would meet government and business leaders to discuss Bangladesh’s role in trade, commerce, and regional connectivity during her stay.
In Aug last year, she joined the department from the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where she served as a Senior Professional Staff Member for then-Senator John Kerry and Senator Robert Menendez.
