Ten wagons of a Chandpur-bound mail train derailed on Wednesday afternoon at Bakila. The train was transporting octane.

It was immediately unclear what had caused the derailment.

Chandpur rail station’s Assistant Master Md Sirajul Islam said trains resumed at around 4:30am on Friday after the wagons had been pulled out and damaged tracks repaired.

No casualty has been reported.

A four-member committee has been formed to investigate cause of the accident.
