Ershad went to the hospital at around 11am and spent some time with him.

He asked doctors about his health condition, the party’s Central Office Secretary Abul Hasan Ahmed Jewel told bdnews24.com.

Howlader, who was recently removed from the post of Secretary General of the Opposition Jatiya Party, was hospitalized on Wednesday afternoon after he complained of chest pain.

Earlier, the party’s incumbent Secretary General Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu, MP, and several senior party leaders visited Howlader on Thursday night.

Howlader served as the Secretary General of the Jatiya Party from 2001 to April 9 this year.

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) recently began a probe into allegations of illegal wealth amassed by the Jatiya Party lawmaker.

Later, on April 10, Ershad removed Howlader from the post of the party’s Secretary General, bringing in Presidium Council Member and lawmaker Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu in his place.
